Service Description
**join the wait list to be notified about the next group anticipated March 2025 - email tabitha.echavarria@gmail.com ** Gather with other family and friends who know someone with psychosis. Psychosis includes any experience of hearing, seeing, or understanding the world differently that may interfere with one's ability to productively engage in their environment or think and act the way they typically would. Some people have diagnoses such as schizophrenia or substance induced psychosis. Psychosis considerably impacts the person and the people around them. Given the ongoing mental health stigma, finding other people to share with and lean on to process and cope can be challenging. This support group is specifically intended to bring together people with shared experience of psychosis within their loves ones in order to have supportive conversation and emotional support. The group is facilitated by a licensed psychologist who has 10 years of specialized training and practice in psychosis and extreme experiences. She will offer explicit education as needed and tailored to the individuals in the group. During this group, participants will learn more about what their loved one with psychosis is experiencing, how to respond to common concerns, and to maintain hope that people with psychosis can and do get better. Disclaimer: No more than 2 people from the same family may participate in the same group. Please consider how being in the same group as a partner/sibling/child may impact your willingness and ability to share within the group (some find it better some find it more difficult).
